Empty Shoes: Poems on the Hungry and the Homeless

Gamze and Patrick T. Randolph live in the southern regions of the Midwest. Patrick grew up on a lake in the white birch, soft green pinewoods of northwestern Wisconsin. He has had an eclectic history of occupations, including two different experiences in which he worked for the homeless in Chicago and San Francisco. For the past fourteen years, he has been teaching English as a Second Language—both in the States and abroad. Currently, he teaches at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Gamze is originally from Istanbul, Turkey, the mystical city which fuses a kaleidoscope of humanity brimming with endless poetry. Her interests include crafts, film, art, traveling, and caring for her Turkish and American families. She is currently an MBA student at the same university where Patrick teaches. Gamze and Patrick dance the dance of life, laughter, and help those in need of a hug.
